IMRT Institute of Management follows a Semester system of study. The entire 2-year program is therefore divided into four semesters. The program comprises of a total of 35 courses of three credits each, of which 23 are core courses of study and the remaining 12 are elective courses. Each course of three credits consists of 24 sessions of 75 minutes each, i.e., 30 direct classroom contact hours.

Students can earn a dual specialization by opting elective courses in any two functional areas of management. The bouquet of specialization comprises of Finance, Marketing, IT, HRM and International Business. Each specialization area offers many innovative courses for emerging careers in management.

IMRT follows a continuous system on assessment and evaluation for measurement of learning outcomes by students. Each course therefore assesses learning by a blend of quizzes, assignments, case / exercise analysis, discussion / report submission, project / term paper, mid-term examination and end-term examination.

The curriculum is so designed that in the first year core courses are covered to strengthen knowledge of fundamentals in all areas of functional management to enable students to gain a holistic perspective of general management besides building on the essential communication, computer and quantitative skills.

Summer vacation between the first year and second year is utilized for summer internship to gain first-hand experience of working in the real business world and also for application of class room learning to manage the prevailing challenges of industry.

The second year provides opportunity to choose courses in the chosen area of specialization customized to career aspirations of students and the industry requirements. The three trimesters in the second year are geared towards an in-depth understanding of the respective fields of specialization. Thus, making students industry ready for taking on real life challenges.

PGDM Admission Process:

Bachelor's degree with minimum of 50% aggregate marks under 10+2+3 system or equivalent in any discipline recognised by Association of Indian Universities / AICTE as eligible for Post Graduate Studies in Management.

Students appearing for final year of degree examination can also apply. Non - fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

Admissions shall be through one of the All India Entrance Tests: CAT / MAT / XAT / ATMA / any other national level entrance exam followed by Test of Written English, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

MBA Admission Process:

To apply to IMRT an applicant must complete the online ‘Application Form’. There is one common Online Application Form.

On the Application Form the candidate must provide educational qualifications, Contact us details, etc. and at least one of the following: registration number for CAT or CMAT or ID for XAT or ID for GMAT. IMRT will be accepting CAT/XAT/GMAT

After completing the form, the applicant can make payment by one of three options: Pay through demand draft: The applicant must make a demand draft payable to “Institute of Management Research and Technology”. On the ‘Application Form’, applicants must provide the demand draft number, name of bank, date, location of bank and amount. After providing these details, the applicant will be directed to a new window that has the details of the information submitted and the ‘tear-off’ sheet together with an ‘Application Form Number’. Applicants should take a printout of this form and keep it for their future reference. Applicants must affix their passport-size self-attested photo to the tear-off sheet and send the demand draft along with it. Once the demand draft and tear-off sheet are received by IMRT, the status is automatically updated on the website. Applicants will also receive a confirmation email within the next 24 hours.

Admissions Decision: Admission decisions will be made after interviews are conducted and admission offers will be made to the selected applicants.

New Admit information: All the new admits will be provided information on fees, schedule, accommodation, etc.

Course Start: Full-time and Executive programmes for academic year will start July every year.

Placement:

The Placement Process at IMRT aims to match the requirements of the Corporate World with the aspirations of the students thereby facilitating the achievement of synergy between the two. The various Placements Activities undertaken at IMRT are described below.

Summer Internship Programmers As a compulsory part of curriculum, PGDM and MBA students are required to undergo Summer Internship with an organization for a period of 6-8 weeks. The selection process for Summer Placements starts after the first term for the first year students. The period of Summer Internship is normally from the beginning of April to the mid of June.

Final Placements

This process is usually conducted in the month of February, although recruitment through Pre-Placements Offers (PPO) and lateral process for students with prior work experience can happen till at least a fortnight before the Final Placements.

For each of these processes, the following procedure is adopted:

  • Stage 1: Members from companies interact with students on campus through Guest Lectures, Live Projects, and other Corporate Forums
  • Stage 2: Student profiles and other relevant details are shared with companies
  • Stage 3: The companies conduct Pre-Placements Talks to give in-depth information about them including the roles and profiles being offered
  • Stage 4: Applications are invited and resumes of interested applicants are shared with the companies
  • Stage 5: Based on factors such as profiles and locations offered, and student’s perceptions and areas of interest, companies are ranked and called on campus
  • Stage 6: Companies conduct their selection process which typically comprises CV based short listing, group discussions, and interviews
  • Stage 7: Final results are announced by the companies
